Sascha's career began with private security contracting in her hometown of Newark, until addiction sent her into a downward spiral. When offered a fresh start in the Chornobyl Zone as a Mercenary, she leapt at it.A budding friendship with her new squadmate Buck helped her get clean, only for his death to bring her low once again. Inheriting his weapon, she threw herself into her work, and into a doomed mission that left her near-death.After her recovery, Sascha learned she had been programmed as a sleeper agent by the antagonistic Monolith faction. Serving on the United Nations' Board of Directors, Lucia Muller commands the International Scientific Group - the division assigned to studying and controlling the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.She previously employed Mercenaries to seize intel on the Zone's origins. However in their absence, she has been forced to deploy Striga Company - a covert ops unit of her own creation - which the Board funds while officially denying.Director Muller employs Esther Raines as both a bodyguard and captain of Striga Company. Officially, Raines acts as Director Muller's bodyguard - but in secret, she operates as captain of her task force. Her CIA training makes her a formidable operator, but her mindset often leaves her under-equipped for the Zone's unpredictable nature.Striga Company operates almost entirely within the Zone, and specializes in retrieval of intel pertaining to the Zone's origins, along with liquidating possible threats to Muller's clandestine goals.Raines and Sascha are continually at odds with one another, but forced to cooperate on their handler's orders. DARIUS SADOWSKI

Between his nonthreatening demeanor and mostly performative role at the UNISG, Professor Sadowski commands far less authority than he'd like to. Neither subordinates nor superiors respect him, even when he actually tries to delegate.Sadowski feels overqualified and holds resentment for how little he is taken seriously. Despite his role of 'Administrative Advisor,' he is effectively a glorified HR consultant for Muller; managing connections and homeland personnel as per her orders.His conscience is slightly more intact than his contemporaries - he finds his division's goals to be just, but not Muller and Raines' means of achieving them.
